Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was born on the 10th of March, 1949. She is an American investor as well as a speaker and consultant. She was the founder of The Corcoran Group, a real estate brokerage in New York City, which she sold to NRT for $66 million in 2001. She shortly thereafter , the company was sold. Corcoran is one of ABC’s first Shark Tank investors. As of now she has appeared in every 12 season of Shark Tank. In February of 2020, she had closed 53 deals. The most significant of these was a purchase of $350,000 for Coverplay at 40%. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second child of ten from a working-class Irish Catholic family. [8] Her mother, Florence, was a homemaker. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was a bouncing from job to job throughout Corcoran's youth. Her family often relied on free food deliveries from a local grocery store. Corcoran claims that her father was a drunken man who did her mother a disservice and sarcastic remarks. Corcoran had difficulty at school and discovered later that she had dyslexia. Corcoran entered in high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after having attended an Catholic elementary school. Corcoran, who had failed numerous classes in her first year of high school, was transferred to Leonia High School. There she was awarded a D.
