Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born August 19, 1965) is an American actor, producer and director. Her most well-known part is as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime series The Closer. Sedgwick received the Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award for her portrayal as Johnson in 2007. The seventh season of the show concluded on August 13, 2012. Sedgwick is also well-known for her regular role in the role of Madeline Wuntch on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick was awarded an Golden Globe Award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film credits include Oliver Stone's Born On the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000), What's Cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). She also starred in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick is the daughter Patricia Rosenwald, an educator, family therapist, venture capitalist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick VII, a speech therapist. Her mother was Jewish and her father was Episcopalian and of English origin. Sedgwick claims to be Jewish and claims she goes to Passover seders.
